The Body Shop Tea Tree Skin Clearing Toner Review

August 14, 2014

Hello everyone. Did I tell you before how I love to try out The Body Shop products, especially the Tea Tree range since I love how the Tea Tree Oil helped me to manage my breakouts? That's right and today I would review The Body Shop Tea Tree Skin Clearing Toner.

Basic Information

Weight: 250 ml

Product Description

The Body Shop Tea Tree Skin Clearing Lotion uses tea tree oil that comes from the foothills of Mount Kenya. These tea tree leaves are picked by hand and steam-distilled to release the oil.
  • This refreshing toner for blemished skin gives a beautifully matte, shine-free finish.
  • Removes traces of make-up, cleanser and impurities
  • Mattifying powders leave skin shine-free
  • Clinically proven to give clearer-looking skin

Packaging

It comes in a big fat plastic bottle.

Ingredients

Aqua, Alcohol Denat, Corn Starch Modified, Caprylyl Glycol, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Glycerin, Melaleuca Alternifolia Leaf Oil, Salix Alba Bark Extract, Allantoin, Calophyllum Inophyllum Seed Oil, Limonene, Hamamelis Virginiana Extract, Sodium Hydroxide, t-Butyl Alcohol, Citral, Leptospermum Petersonii Oil, Denatonium Benzoate, Tocopherol, Caramel, CI 19140, CI 42090

Texture & Fragrance

Some kinda white particles will always disintegrate and sink down, separating from the light green, watery toner. I always have to shake the bottle before applying the toner. Like most Tea Tree range from The Body Shop, it has a mild fragrant of tea tree.

Application

Apply after cleansing and before moisturising. Shake to activate the mattifying powders and apply a generous amount to a cotton pad. Sweep across the face and neck.

My Impression

Not my favourite toner. Not at all. First of all, I have to shake the bottle each time I use it, which is really bothersome. Second, I feel this burning sensation on my skin whenever I apply it on my face. Third, it did nothing to help my acne, it may have made it worse though. Fourth, its pricey and not worth the money. Well, I had a high expectation from this toner, but Neutrogena Deep Clean Blackhead Eliminating Cooling Toner did a much, much better job, if this toner did anything at all.
Before & after I shook the bottle
