Packaging
Nature Republic's 92% Aloe Vera Soothing Gel comes in a giant jar. It doesn’t come with a spatula though. It’s really unhygienic so I would usually scoop some of the product in small clean cosmetic container. This makes it more hygienic and travel friendly.
Ingredients
Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract (92%), Alcohol, Glyceryl Polyacrylate, Dipropylene Glycol, Butylene Glycol, Glycerin, Propylene Glycol, 1,2-Hexanediol, Polyglutamic Acid, Betaine, Sodium Hyaluronate, Carendula Officinalis Flower Extract, Mentha Viridis (Spearmint) Extract, Melissa Officinalis Extract, Carbomer, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Triethanolamine, Phenoxyethanol, Water, Parfum, Disodium Edta
Texture & Fragrance
It has a somewhat mild fragrance and the gel is transparent. It feels really cooling when my skin comes in contact with it and it really feels like I’m touching concentrated water. Even though it comes in a gel form, it’s not sticky and absorbs fast into skin.
Nature Republic's 92% Aloe Vera Soothing Gel Uses
So Nature Republic has suggested a number of ways to use this gel. Using their suggestion and my own, I've come up with a list.
1. As a makeup base
It makes a great make up base because it’s cheap (I don’t have to buy a primer) and it makes my makeup last longer.
2. For a dewy effect makeup
Dewy effect makeup is such craze now. Just mix the gel with BB Cream, CC Cream or liquid foundation, with 2:1 ration for a dewy/glowing effect. Highly recommended for dry skin folks to do this as this will prevent cakey makeup and flaky skin. I don’t think this is advisable for oily skinned folks.
3. Makes a great eye pack
Sometimes when I wake up with puffy eyes I would just slather some of the gel in between a facial cotton and leave it on my eyes around 10-15 minutes. The puffiness would be gone, or almost.
4. As a moisture pack
Apply a thick layer on a mask sheet or just apply a thick layer without a sheet and leave on for 15 minutes. You can also mix the gel with other ingredients such as yogurt or honey or anything else that you like to add.
5. As a face moisturizer
I have tried using it as my moisturizer for a month. It was not a good idea. The gel is not moisturizing enough for my combination skin. I don’t know, but it may work for oily skin. It didn't cause any breakouts and it did calm down redness and acne a little.
6. Soothe sunburn
Keep the gel in a fridge and slather the product wherever you want after you had a long sunny day. God it feels good.
7. Use after shaving to soothe skin
Just apply some of the product where you just shaved.
8. As a body moisturizer
Mix it with olive oil and apply to your body as lotion.
9. As a night mask
Just apply a thick layer before you go to bed. My face would be rejuvenated the next morning.
10. Condition nails
Just apply it on your nails to strengthen it and to prevent cracking.
11. As a hair mask
Just use as the product a hair mask. My hair will be so soft after I used the gel. You can also mix the gel with other ingredients such as olive oil, coconut oil or honey.
12. Makes a healthy hair gel
Sometimes I would use the gel as a healthy hair gel. Back in the days when I had locks, I tried to use this gel instead of a curling cream. It was amazing. It really gave my hair shine and it made my locks to stay in place. You can also use it to tame all those split ends.
13. Makes a great substitute for any DIY recipes
There are a lot of DIY beauty recipes that requires Aloe Vera Gel as an ingredient such as setting spray or face mist. Just use this gel as a replacement. It works great.
